Summary
No account is required. Encode Keyboard does not operate a server that receives text you enter in the app or keyboard, and it includes no advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
The App Store “Data Not Collected” label describes the app and keyboard. Website hosting and support email are explained separately below.
Main app and keyboard
Emoji, Kaomoji, Morse, Binary, Base64, ROT13, Leetspeak, and Personal Code transformations run locally. Text you enter is not sent to our server.
History, favorites, preferences, emoji mappings, Personal Code rules, and content-free feature counters may be stored on device or in the App Group so the app and keyboard can work.
- No account, ads, analytics, or tracking SDKs.
- No data sales and no tracking across apps or websites.
- You can clear local data in Settings or remove it by uninstalling the app.
Keyboard and Full Access
Encode Keyboard declares RequestsOpenAccess=false. It does not request Full Access, has no network access, and does not read the clipboard.
While active, the keyboard processes locally the text and nearby cursor context that iOS makes available in the current text field. You choose Codec → Encode/Decode → EN/VI → Convert; Undo restores the most recent conversion. That data is not transmitted.
Clipboard and sharing
The main app reads the clipboard only after you tap Paste and writes to it only after you tap Copy. Encode Keyboard does not collect or transmit clipboard content.
When you use a share sheet, export a codebook, or send a file to another app, iOS and the destination app process that content according to your choice and their policies.
Optional translation resources
When you enable multilingual expansion for a custom phrase, the main app may use the iOS Translate framework and request Apple-managed language resources. Encode Keyboard does not operate a translation server, and the keyboard does not use this feature.
Encode Keyboard website
The website sets no advertising, analytics, or tracking cookies. The Signal Lab demo runs locally in the tab and does not upload the text you enter.
The hosting provider may automatically process standard technical logs—such as IP address, user-agent, requested URL, access time, and response status—to deliver the website, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain security. Those logs are not combined with text in the app.
Support email
If you email us, we receive the email address, message content, and files you voluntarily provide. We use this information only to respond, resolve an issue, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations.
Do not send sensitive text, passwords, codebooks, or private content. You may ask us to delete a support message when it is no longer needed, unless retention is required for legal or security reasons.
Security and the limits of encoding
We use reasonable safeguards to reduce risk around the website and support channel. No system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Binary, Base64, Morse, ROT13, Leetspeak, and Personal Code are not cryptography. Do not use these codecs to protect passwords, secret keys, financial or health information, or other sensitive data.
Children's privacy
Encode Keyboard is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app has no accounts or data collection mechanism, we do not actively determine a user’s age. If you believe a child sent information through support email, contact us to request deletion.
Retention and your choices
App feature data remains on device until you clear it in Settings or uninstall the app. Website log retention follows the hosting provider’s operational and security needs. Support email is kept for a reasonable period to handle the request and related obligations.
You may request access to or deletion of information you intentionally sent by email by contacting the address below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, a new effective date will be posted here. Material changes will be described clearly in the app or on the website when appropriate.
