Leetspeak: remix letters with retro-tech symbols

Leetspeak replaces selected Latin letters with visually similar digits or symbols. Encode Keyboard offers three intensities, each with a larger substitution map.

Leetspeak replaces selected Latin letters with visually similar digits or symbols. Encode Keyboard offers three intensities, each with a larger substitution map.

Light replaces a, e, i, and o. Classic also covers b, g, s, and t. Extreme adds characters such as c → (, h → #, l → |, and z → 2. Unmapped characters remain unchanged.

How Encode Keyboard handles it

Choose intensity

Light, Classic, or Extreme determines the active substitution table.

Replace matching letters

Matching is case-insensitive and replacements do not preserve the original letter case.

Decode approximately

Digit substitutions 0–8 map back to likely letters. Extreme symbols such as (, #, and | remain unchanged.

Validation and common errors

  • Original digits can be mistaken for letters
